Watertown International Airport provides an executive-style flying experience while saving you time and money:

Plan to arrive at Watertown International Airport TWO HOURS before your flight. The American Airlines ticket counter closes 45 minutes prior to departure time for checking bags and printing boarding passes. We recommend checking in for your flight and obtaining boarding passes 24 hours prior to departure on www.aa.com. Download the AA app on your phone to display your boarding passes. Once the aircraft doors are closed, they will not be reopened for late arrivals.

Please check the Transportation Security Administration’s website at tsa.gov for a list of items banned from checked bags or carry-ons.  Do keep your prescription drugs, jewelry, and other valuables with you.  If you store toiletries and other small items inside plastic bags, it will help prevent spillage, breakage, or loss in case your bag is searched.

For summer travelers, please clean your sporting equipment, such as golf clubs, before traveling, since any residue can set off detectors. Remove any metal from your pockets and place it in your carry-on to avoid being detained and holding up the line.

The terminal building operates on a limited schedule, opening two hours before each scheduled flight departure. Please be aware that there are no overnight accommodations available within the building.

Passengers are responsible for arranging transportation and lodging. Options include coordinating with friends, family, taxi services, rental car companies, or ride-sharing services (Uber/Lyft).

While the Terminal Building is not open 24/7, the parking lot is accessible at all times for vehicle retrieval.

For any special circumstances or accommodation needs, please contact the airport in advance.

Passengers departing from Watertown International Airport (ART) should follow American Airlines’ recommended guidelines regarding when to arrive at the airport prior to scheduled flights.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recommends passengers arrive at least two hours prior to scheduled departure. Delays may change actual departures, but security screening follows regularly scheduled departure times and is not available 24 hours per day.

Security screening hours may be extended by airlines and TSA; check with your airline for the most accurate information concerning screening availability.

Special Mobility Assistance can be found on American Airlines’s website. The airline also has a special assistance phone number to make arrangements at 800-237-7976. The airline has wheelchairs available at the airport. Be sure to let an airline member know if you need assistance.

TSA has a contact center to assist those wanting mobility assistance when going through security checkpoints at 866-289-9673 and online at the TSA website.
